What are Youth grantings mechanisms?
They are structured approaches that support young people with financial resources to develop youth-led projects and initiatives. These mechanisms provide youth with direct decision-making power over funding, allowing them to identify community needs, design solutions and distribute resources to support innovative and impactful projects driven by their peers.
Key characteristics
Youth granting initiatives can be structured around either territorial or thematic priorities. Some initiatives are embedded within governmental or municipal structures, others operate independently under the leadership of youth organizations or civil society actors. While some initiatives focus exclusively on grant distribution, others integrate components such as project monitoring, capacity-building, and advocacy.
